Very happily and excitedly was part of the community that bestowed the name ‘Pup Socket’ upon a new puppy boy today. What an excellent IML 2012!
Also, off the cuff, ended up bestowing the name ‘Pup Fixie’ onto another nameless pup. I am honored to have given both names this weekend!
Between naming ‘Pup Socket’, ‘Pup Fixie’, and tongue-in-cheek calling an already-named-pup I adore by ‘Pup Maestro’, it was a good weekend!
Oh, and the rarely-seen ‘Pup Hex’ came out for a romp this weekend and delighted / terrified a bunch of IML attendees. Twas awesome!

I know you frequent Steamworks in Chicago. I have never gone there. I am a larger guy (overweight) don't have a huge dick and am 45 years old. I prefer younger guys like 20 to 35 and in good shape. My question is are there guys there looking for guys like me? Is it worth going or will I be laughed out? Also what is it like there? Private rooms? How does it work? Is it clean? Thing like that. Does it cost to get or do you have to be a member? Any advice?

I see guys all kinds at Steamworks; from really thin to very heavy, ages from 80s (no joke!) to 18, and cocks from 1” to 12”. The guys at Steamworks are the same that walk the streets of Boys Town, frequent it’s bars, and drink at Starbucks - they’re no different, and have the same tastes. So it won’t be easier / harder to find what you’re interested in, it’s simply easier to do-the-deed because everyone there is actually LOOKING for sex… rather than just talking about it online, jerking off, and going to bed (giving you raging blue balls). You definitely won’t be laughed out.
There are private rooms, who’s prices vary depending on size; and a membership is technically required, but it’s cheap (check their site for more details). The whole place is amazingly cleaned, and the whole place also gets deep cleaned weekly. Honestly, it’s cleaner than most trick’s houses I visit!

I just moved to Chicago and have been curious about going to Steamworks for awhile now, but nervous. 23, skinny tall twink, mostly top, but vers. I'm not into older guys(over 28 roughly) at all though. Are there a lot of other twink type guys that go there who hook up with other twinks? How are the college nights on Tuesdays and Wednesdays? You're blog makes me a lot more comfortable about checking it out, hopefully I'll work up the nerve soon!

Lots of guys who go there tend to stay in their own age range at Steamworks, but just like the internet or real-life, it always varies. Usually there are some under 30 guys there; some interested in each other, others interested in guys older / heavier / etc. than them.
College nights can be okay, but I don’t see a ton of guys (younger or older) going to those. If you’re looking for the biggest selection, I’d suggest Fri or Sat nights, from 11p-3a, or Thur / Sun nights, from 7p-11p as well.
However, there’s guys at Steamworks ALL THE TIME (even mid-day on a Tuesday) so you could potentially get lucky whenever / wherever!

I play safe, but accidents happen (and some STDs aren’t prevented easily / at all, from condoms). I have contracted a few STDs over the years, but it has been very rare and I’ve been treated for them as soon as I notice symptoms or my monthly testing reveals them to me.
My biggest advice is to always play safe, and always treat everyone as though they have STDs / HIV (eg: always use condoms, always act smart). Even if someone things they’re STD-free / HIV- it’s better to play smart & safe.
I live in a world where open relationships are standard; fucking friends is the norm; people give high-fives for having sex; where ‘bathhouse’ isn’t a dirty word, but a holy temple; relationships with more than two people don’t make anyone raise an eyebrow; there’s an unflinching acceptance of nudity & body types; people can break out into sex during a poker game (at the table) and the game continues on unabated; people support you for who you want to be, and who you want to be it with; stripping someone, tying them up, and watching a movie is a ‘quiet night in’; people strip when they come to visit, not for sexual reasons, but because nudity is comfortable; ‘weirdos’ with tattoos, piercings, or body mods are cherished and loved as much as those with virgin flesh; where my husband can fuck a guy while I’m making us all dinner; and where love reigns supreme.
I love this world… this brave new beautiful world I live in, and am helping to expand with each friendship, lover, acquaintance, and party. I love each member of this shared world. Thank you all.
